Before I met a woman with a Ragdoll kitten at the vet – where I was with a bunny – I had never heard of the breed. The little kitten was so calm, purring and sleeping in her arms, in contrast to most cats who’re just sitting in their carrier scared. The most fascinating part about the kitten were its bright blue eyes. The woman told me about the breed and that they don’t have to go outside to be happy. This was completely new to me. I couldn’t stop thinking about the cat, so I started researching the breed immediately since I’d wanted a cat myself ever since I’d moved out from my parents. Nevertheless, I didn’t want a cat I had to let outdoors as my flat was on the first floor. So, it came as it had to come: I got my first Ragdoll, Flakes. Shortly after him, we also welcomed Snow. I still did not have any intentions to become a breeder myself, but even though they added to my life, it didn’t suffice. So, I started researching the breed, everything about genetics and breeding, in more detail and eventually decided to become a breeder. After almost 3 years studying Ragdolls intensively, I fulfilled my dream. I’m more than happy to call myself breeder and LOVE what I’ve achieved so far.
By breeding Ragdolls, I especially want to raise happy, healthy kittens with great type, who give their families the same exciting feeling and happiness that I had when I got my first Ragdolls (although it’s the same with every cat I get).
My goal is to give them the best life because this is what they deserve.
Additionally, I want to show how colourful Ragdolls can be and want to improve their type.
I chose the name “Lumienkeli Dolls” because Lumienkeli means snow angel in Finnish and describes Ragdoll kittens best. They’re born completely whit and are – at least in the first week – as innocent as angels. A Ragdoll’s personality is, as the name suggests, as relaxed as a doll.
